I love stories :D here are things I tend to recommend often to people. expand to see my own thoughts on them <>Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) [movie]
Favorite movie, hands down. I've watched it 5 times (and cried every time), and I'll watch it another 5 more. It's a masterpiece. It's a really personally relevant movie to me. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of stories that handle topics about intergenerational trauma, absurdism, and/or existentialism.
Note: I don't recommend watching this movie if you're unable to completely suspend your disbelief for it. You miss out on too much if you focus on trying to rationalize the confusion of the movie, or dismiss trying to understand its value because of its weirdness.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint [web novel]
A story that is a love letter to all stories, from author-to-reader, reader-to-author, and reader-to-character. If you have ever loved a story, you should read ORV. If you feel like you have ever been impacted, changed, or saved by a story, you should read ORV*. It's really long (551 chapters), but in my opinion, it is a story that is worth reading every word for.
* If you happen to like Shuuenpro, you should read ORV.
In Stars and Time [game]
This one intensified my obsession with Shuuenpro, somehow. Definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes time loop narratives. It has a pretty realistic portrayal of the psychologically tolling effects that a time loop would have on a person's psyche. In general, the writing of all the dialogue and internal monologue is really inspiring to me. It's very memorable. I think grief, friendship, and identity are the focuses that stand out the most when it comes to this one. None of these descriptions really do it much justice, though! You should play it for yourself.
Shuuen no Shiori Project [multimedia Vocaloid series]
I got like. one paragraph through writing this one until I realized I should probably write another love letter about Shuuenpro. so. uhm. stay tuned for that? eventually?
